The podcast that brings college-level analysis to preschool-level content! Hosts Martyn and Rebecca take deep dives into kids’ movies and TV shows that they are forced to watch on repeat thanks to Rebecca’s two young children. It’s a little about parenting and a lot about over-analyzing content that was never meant to be examined that closely. In honor of the subject matter, the podcast is PG, but it still touches on grown-up themes and ideas. Listeners need not be parents to enjoy.

It's time to start talking about Frozen! More specifically: Frozen 1. We do our best not to talk about Frozen 2. Questions to consider for this episode: Why does the king know about trolls? What's the appropriate punishment when your daughter freezes her sister's brain? IIIIIICE?

It's time to finish our discussion of Disney/Pixar's Brave! With special guest, Martyn (@IsThisMartyn)! This time we discuss the possibility that bears have an interesting origin story in the Brave universe. We also question what the intended lesson of the film was supposed to be. Other things to consider: How would you best phrase a wish if you were to randomly encounter a witch in the forest? Are you prepared for a narwhal invasion? Is it possible to sew while horseback riding? And more!

At the very top, we're going to put in a trigger warning for brief discussion of mental disability and (believe it or not) a minor spoiler warning for Parasite.
That being said, let's talk about Disney/Pixar's Brave! With special guest, Martyn (@IsThisMartyn)! This is part 1 of 2, and even splitting it into two parts didn't make it all that short. This episode is nearly an hour long, but it's absolutely worth it. Martyn offers some Scottish history, including the origins of the kilt (and the fact that kilts are different from plaids). Rebecca vents many frustrations. There is discussion of "creative differences" and how they can affect movies. And much, much more.

TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of deceased children.
Part 2 of our analysis of My Neighbor Totoro is here! This episode comes with not one but TWO Bad Grannying Alerts! On a more serious note, one more time: TRIGGER WARNING for discussion of deceased children. Questions for this episode: Does a cat-bus have a heartbeat? When will we finally take down Big Vegetable and all their lies? Will Rebecca ever stop acting holier-than-thou when it comes to parenting?

Hi, friends! It's time to tear into My Neighbor Totoro! Unlike our last two-parter, this one will actually consist of only two parts. Gear up for some bad parenting and bad grannying alerts! Questions to consider for this episode: Why do people find Totoro cute? Is it possible for someone to have an easy journey through puberty? When is it okay to involve your children in crime? And are these two girls dead already? Tune in next week for the conclusion!

Trigger Warning: Mental Health/Disorder
We get pretty heartfelt in this, the third part of our two-part series on how autism spectrum disorder is represented in entertainment media. We discuss Scrubs, Bob's Burgers, Criminal Minds, Star Trek, The Good Place, Stranger Than Fiction, and Saban's Power Rangers. We also talk about our personal experience with receiving our son's ASD diagnosis, and how we try to be the best parents for our son. Don't like us being serious? Don't worry. We'll be back to our usual shenanigans next week.

Hi, friends! Today we are doing something a little different. Instead of over-analyzing preschool-level content, we are kicking off a two-part exploration of how Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is treated in various entertainment media. Today we explore books and webcomics. Next week will be movies and TV shows. Check out some of the books/comics we recommend below!

It's our Secret Life of Pets 2 Part 2 episode! Not confusing at all, right? We both try out our Harrison Ford voices, and honestly it doesn't go that well. Talking points for this episode: The outdated "be a man" narrative. How is Paul Newman passing his time in Heaven? Normalizing therapy and seeking help for mental health issues. Sheeps are made of wool? And now all the links!

Happy Chanukah! It's time to talk extensively about The Secret Life of Pets 2, currently streaming on Netflix. Spoiler Warning for this movie. Also spoiler: We hate this movie. Questions to consider for this episode: Is Old MacDonald's farm sustainable? Will we ever be able to reinvent education in America? How is it possible for someone to animate un-cute puppies? Part 2 comes next week! Follow us on Twitter @NotAgainPod. Tweet Rebecca @BexGoos if you'd like her to review your podcast. Find us on Facebook at Not Again with Alan and Rebecca.
